Energy education plays a vital role in the move to a low-carbon economy in Europe.
Business and industry, schools, local communities and individuals of all ages need to change the way they use energy in everyday life to:
- Reduce reliance on fossil fuels
- Reduce the impact of climate change
- Help the EU meet its ambitious 20-20-20 targets i.e. 20% of EU energy consumption is to come from renewable energy sources, with a 20% reduction of primary energy consumption and a 20% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions
A new generation of skilled engineers, installers, energy managers and other sustainable energy professionals is needed across Europe to increase the use of low-energy equipment, renewables (solar, wind, bioenergy, biofuels, geothermal, ocean energy), insulation, energy-efficient buildings, sustainable modes of transport, intelligent control systems, and other innovative products and technologies.
Supporting a network of thousands of local energy actors across Europe, ManagEnergy is ideally placed to disseminate information on intelligent use of energy.
Vocational Training Corner will provide:
- Links to courses, job profiles, projects and supporting information on Vocational Training - connecting apprentices, builders, electricians, plumbers, architects, engineers, trade organisations and other sustainable energy and building professionals with providers of training opportunities across Europe.
